Le Belgica
A compact bar a few steps from the Grand-Place, running since the mid-1980s with the same distressed interior it started with.

Brussels does gay life the way it does most things: with a quiet, unshowy confidence and a streak of surrealism. The scene clusters tightly around Rue du Marché au Charbon, a few short streets near the Grand Place where cafés, bars and the city's drag institutions sit shoulder to shoulder. It feels neighbourly rather than hedonistic, more conversation than spectacle. The exception is La Démence, the legendary monthly party at Fuse that draws a serious European crowd into the small hours. Belgian Pride in May fills the centre with a similar mix of polish and mischief.
Gay Places is building a better guide to gay life around the world, bringing together venues, events, and local context to make it easier to find, understand, and step into.
