Santa Maria Bar

A queer cocktail bar in the Raval, a block or two from MACBA, run by the team behind Almayer Bar in Gràcia. Santa Maria sits off the main Eixample circuit entirely, which gives it a noticeably different feel: mixed in both orientation and nationality, with a neighbourhood ease that the Gayxample can struggle to hold onto. The cocktails are a serious point of pride here, and the staff carry the place with the kind of warmth that reads less like service training and more like genuine hospitality.
