Gran Canaria's gay scene is concentrated at the island's southern tip, where Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas merge into one of Europe's most visited gay resort destinations. The Yumbo Centre in Playa del Inglés is the hub: a multi-storey commercial complex running as shops and cafes by day that shifts, after midnight, to over 30 bars, cruise clubs, and dance floors. The protected sand dunes at Maspalomas and the adjacent naturist beach are the daytime draw. Year-round warmth and a near-permanent event schedule sustain arrivals through every season: CanCanaria Adventure Week in January, Bear Carnival in March, Maspalomas Pride and Eurovision Pride in May, Fetish Pride in October, Winter Pride in November, and the Brutal Winter Fetish Festival across December and January.
