El Horno
A bear bar in central Sitges drawing a predominantly male crowd to one of the town's most established addresses.

Sitges is one of Europe’s most effortlessly appealing gay beach destinations: a compact, whitewashed seaside town just 40 minutes from Barcelona, with a lively yet relaxed gay scene woven naturally into daily life. Gay beaches, bars, terraces and late-night spots all sit within easy walking distance, giving Sitges an easy sociable rhythm by day and a flirtier energy after dark. The atmosphere is polished but never try-hard, and the town’s long-established LGBTQ+ identity means it feels confidently gay without needing to overstate it. The biggest dates on the calendar are Sitges Carnival, which takes over the town every February, with the 2026 edition running from 12 to 18 February 2026; Sitges Pride, from 10 to 14 June 2026; and Sitges Bear Week, from 4 to 13 September 2026. Together they help define Sitges as one of the most iconic and reliably sociable gay resorts in Europe.
Gay Places is building a better guide to gay life around the world, bringing together venues, events, and local context to make it easier to find, understand, and step into.
